New Top Level Domains
Key-Systems and Donuts sign first Registry Registrar Agreement
St. Ingbert, 2013-11-15, The Key-Systems GmbH, an international domain registrar, and the Donuts Inc., registry for new top level domains (TLDs), have signed a Registry Registrar Agreement (RRA). This agreement allows Key-Systems' customers to execute binding pre-orders and registrations of domain names under the new Donuts TLDs. Key-Systems provides this service via its portals domaindiscount24 (end customers), RRPproxy (resellers) and BrandShelter (corporate clients). The first seven new TLDs of the Donuts Registry will start with the Sunrise period on November 26 and will be generally available as of January 29, 2014. These TLDs are .BIKE, .CLOTHING, .GURU, .HOLDINGS, .PLUMBING, .SINGLES and .VENTURES. Donuts has applied for 307 new TLDs at ICANN.
“We were very curious about the start of the new TLDs and are now pleased to offer our customers access to the broad portfolio of TLDs of the Donuts Registry”, states Alexander Siffrin, CEO of the Key-Systems GmbH. “With 307 applications for TLDs Donuts is one of the key players in the business area of new domain extensions and will substantially contribute to further expand the diversity of the Internet landscape and the potential benefits for the users in the coming years.“
"Donuts is extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with Key Systems," said Donuts co-founder and Executive Vice President Dan Schindler. "Key Systems' reach into markets worldwide means that as top level domains continue to expand, our offerings will reach the varied and international audience of registrants who are ready for relevant and specific naming options."
BrandShelter, the corporate domain portal of the Key-Systems GmbH, offers trademark owners an additional service of the Donuts Registry to prevent cybersquatting. The so-called Domains Protected Marks List (DPML) enables brand owners to block their trademarks from registration at the second level across all Donuts TLDs at a fraction of what it would cost to defensively register the terms in all of Donuts TLDs.
